No Warming Since 2001?

Joanne Nova announced in her 2008 handbook that the world has not warmed since 2001. Let’s check how that’s working out for her.

 

That’s the danger with Nova’s practice of cherry picking. Smaller timeframe of surface temperature data is susceptible to short term variability.  The problem is that eventually the long term trend returns and the warming continues. It only took a few more years of data to make Nova’s claim look foolish. But it make her look even more foolish when you examine past data and realise that this has already happened multiple times.

Look forward to Nova’s next handbook which will tell us there’s been no warming since 2010.
